June 15, 2011Broadband stimulus award winner West Kentucky and Tennessee Telecommunications Cooperative (WK&T) has selected the Calix B6 Ethernet Service Access Nodes (ESANs) and the 700GE family of optical network terminals (ONTs) from Calix Inc. (NYSE:CALX) to provide western Kentucky and Tennessee with an advanced broadband infrastructure capable of delivering speeds of up to 1 Gbps (gigabit per second).
Finisar’s record FY11 revenues likely not enough for Wall Street

Aurora signs MoU with China’s DRFT for cable cooperation
June 14, 2011Aurora Networks, Inc., which specializes in optical equipment for cable networks, says it has signed a memorandum of understanding for technical cooperation with China’s Radio, Film and Television Design and Research Institute (DRFT). The agreement may give Aurora the inside track on supplying equipment for a nationwide upgrade of cable operator networks in China.

CableLabs to join CMAP, CESAR into Converged Cable Access Platform
June 14, 2011CableLabs has released an updated technical report for what it calls the Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP). Not only will the CCAP provide a road map towards an architecture that will help cable operators migrate to IP-based services deliver, but it will “converge” the previous Converged Multiservice Access Platform (CMAP) and Converged Edge Services Access Router (CESAR) initiatives that cable operators had launched to achieve the same end.
