ADTRAN, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADTN) says that Missouri CLEC and Internet provider Socket Telecom has built a broadband stimulus funded fiber to the home (FTTH) network in central Missouri using the ADTRAN Total Access 5000 broadband platform.

Privately held Socket serves business and residential customers in the state’s largest footprint. “Our business customers are quickly adopting a broad range of next-generation applications to support their businesses as they grow. It is critical for us to deliver the latest in advanced digital communications in support of their efforts,” said Carson Coffman, president of Socket Telecom.

“We selected ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000 because it allows us to migrate to an expansive, yet affordable network that supports current broadband technologies and enables evolution within our network for years to come. This enables us to continue to meet the needs of our customers and provide the technologically advanced and personal service they have come to expect from Socket,” Coffman added

ADTRAN says its Total Access 5000 enables service providers such as Socket Telecom to migrate to a next-generation network that can easily be scaled to roll out a broad range of services.
