Reflex Photonics shipping 112-Gbps OTU4 CFP transceivers

Reflex Photonics has unveiled a 112-Gbps OTU4 CFP transceiver. This CFP transceiver supports two data rates: 100 Gigabit Ethernet (10.3 Gbps per channel) and 112-Gbps OTU4 (11.2 Gbps per channel). Built to the CFP MSA, these transceivers comply with the IEEE 802.3ba 100GBase-SR10 specification for 100 Gigabit Ethernet links of up to 150 m as well as the ITU Standard G.709 for 100 Gigabit Ethernet with optical channel wrapper for OTN applications.

The CFP full-duplex modules offer 10 independent transmit and receive channels, each capable of 11.2-Gbps operation for an aggregate bandwidth of 112 Gbps.

The Reflex CFP module has a single optical MPO port that connects to an industry-standard 2x12 parallel multimode fiber cable. The low-profile hot-pluggable parallel transceiver uses the Reflex LightABLE VCSEL/PD array optical subassembly technology. Reflex says its CFP module consumes 7 W and has MDIO digital diagnostic and control capability.
