Infinera shipping DTN-X

The company has already announced Cable&Wireless Worldwide and DANTE as DTN-X customers. Both represent new business for Infinera.

Infinera introduced the DTN-X, a large-scale packet-optical transport system, in September of last year. The platform leverages Infinera’s latest 500-Gbps photonic integrated circuit (PIC) and superchannel capability, along with integrated OTN switching and GMPLS control plane. The company says that integrated MPLS switching is on the roadmap as well. Meanwhile, users can adjust the modulation format to link requirements via Infinera’s FlexCoherent technology.

"With DTN-X, we are also bringing the largest capacity OTN switch to market and delivering the industry's first deployable FlexCoherent capability.
