Terremark enhances its cloud network capacity in London
Terremark, Verizon's (NYSE: VZ) cloud and data center subsidiary, is giving its enterprise customers in London another service option by deploying a node of its Enterprise Cloud Managed Edition in the city.
Through this expansion, London now becomes another European hub for large multinational enterprise customers to get cloud services.
While a key near-term point of the London data center will be to support the upcoming Olympic Games with a particular focus on business continuity, the service provider believes it will be a foundation to help area enterprises scale their respective data center and cloud service capabilities.
Nelson Fonseca, president of Terremark, said that "London is a crucial business hub for Terremark and Verizon, given the number of global multinationals with operations in the region."
London, of course, is only one of a slew of European locations where Terremark is expanding its cloud service capabilities, having made a similar move to launch its Network Access Point (NAP) in Amsterdam last September.
Likewise, it is being just as aggressive in the U.S. and in Latin America. In addition to recently deploying a cloud node in its Denver, Colo.-based data center, Terremark expanded its Network Access Points (NAP) in Brazil and Colombia.
