Windstream bulids data center presence in Little Rock
Windstream (Nasdaq: WIN) has taken the covers off its new data center in Little Rock, Ark., reflecting its ongoing move to expand its cloud and dedicated managed services capabilities.
Focused on what fulfilling the what it says are the "requirements of 24/7, "always on" companies, the service provider's new 30,000-square foot data center includes 2N power distribution and parallel uninterruptable power supplies (UPS).
In addition to the redundant power supplies to ensure no single point of failure, the center's core routers are also fully redundant.
To date, Windstream operates data centers throughout its now nationwide footprint thanks to its PAETEC acquisition, including major cities such as Boston, Charlotte, Philadelphia, and Phoenix.
The new data center, which is part of an aggressive drive by the service provider to establish itself as one of the largest enterprise-centric service providers, comes on the heels of the launch of its latest cloud-based Disaster recovery as a Service (DRaaS) offering.
