Optelian, Bharat Electronics partner for optical networking ...
Optelian says it has signed a technology collaboration agreement (TCA) between Optelian International Corp. and Bharat Electronics Ltd. (BEL) of India. The agreement establishes a long-term partnership for the manufacture and design of optical networking systems in India, and deployment throughout the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region.
SAARC includes Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, The Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The initial period of the agreement is for 15 years.
The TCA will focus on joint technology development and “all facets of the optical networking business,” according to Optelian.
“Optelian is pleased to be partnering with a company of BEL’s caliber and reputation,” said Mike Perry, president of Optelian International Corp. “We firmly believe that the considerable strengths and resources of both companies – when combined – will be complementary and create a successful synergy. In other words, one plus one equals three.”
