How to Install a Fiber Optic Home Network

If you choose fiber optic cable for you Internet connection, you will need to install it on your computer's home network. A company representative will bring the fiber optic into your home, and then you can install your network either wired or wireless.

Choose a professional company person to install your fiber optic cable system in your home. They will bring the fiber optic in and set up your computer for Internet access.
Advise the company installer that you have multiple computers and they will provide a free home networking router to set up your fiber optic home network. You will also need a wireless adaptor if you want to connect wirelessly.
Install the router. Put the CD that comes with the router into your computer disk drive and follow the on-screen instructions.
Connect ethernet router to the computers through wired ports or connect the whole system wirelessly. The on-screen instructions will prompt you when to plug in the power and connect to the modem. Each router model can be a bit different so follow the instructions.
Verify each computer in the network is working once all connections have been made.
