Fibertech Finishes Network Expansion In Indianapolis

Fibertech Networks recently announced it has completed an expansion of its fiber footprint in Indianapolis, IN. Over the past several months, the company has built more than 50 miles of new fiber, expanding its overall total of more than 310 owned and operated route miles of fiber in the area.

"This is a significant investment in our Indianapolis footprint and allows us to better serve business customers north of the city," said Fibertech Director of Enterprise Sales Pat Dolan.

The new network will allow healthcare, financial, education and government organizations, along with other medium-sized and large businesses, the ability to take advantage of a full suite of both optical bandwidth solutions and dark fiber connectivity. The company's unique fiber footprint, coupled with the fact that it doesn't oversubscribe its transport services, has made it an ideal fit in the Indianapolis community since it began offering service in 2001.

Dolan added, "Indianapolis is quickly becoming an economic focal point and major business hub for technology-focused organizations, and is a perfect fit for our service offerings."

Fibertech builds diverse route, "open-access" networks in a ring configuration that allows for carrier-grade diversity, redundancy and resiliency. Its Indianapolis network consists of 10 core rings. The company has more than 160 on-net buildings and connects to numerous central offices and high data aggregation points, in addition to major data centers, including Lifeline Data facilities and others.
