Managed hosting provider i3D.net deploys MRV's OptiDriver

This is MRV’s second recent customer announcement focused on Amsterdam (see "Serverius links Dutch data centers via MRV OptiDriver").

i3D.net operates a fiber-optic network that links 8,000 servers in 16 data centers across six continents. The company offers 24/7 support for game and corporate server hosting, as well as specialty services such as big data, Hadoop, global load balancing, and MPLS and IP transit. The i3D.net network includes multiple Tier 1 carriers and large Internet exchanges across the globe, a combination that the service provider says provides a mix that guarantees redundancy, maximum performance, and low latency.

The service provider sought new optical transport capability that would support product expansion into such areas as cloud services, colocation, infrastructure-as-a-service. MRV says its OptiDriver will provide i3D.net with flexible scalability and intelligence that will simplify network management and provisioning while supporting the expansion plans.
